Welcome, if you are looking for an architect in Napa Valley you have come to the right place.

The image you see above was taken in 2003 when I opened Deer Creek Studio a design resource bookstore and boutique architecture and interior design firm in downtown Nevada City, California.

I am Nori Whisenand, licensed architect. My passions include working on my c. 1883 Folk Victorian house in the Sierra’s, hiking with my 3 Border Collies, and designing beautiful spaces for my clients.

I have been lucky to work with many amazing clients over the last 17 years on their custom homes, whole house remodels, and unique retail & commercial spaces including breweries, brew pubs and small movie theaters.

I have always balanced my architectural work between the Sierra Foothills and Sausalito, where my sailor husband and I have kept a sailboat (aka floating apartment). My current work focus for the last few years has been designing custom new homes, whole house remodels and family compound projects in the Napa Valley.

Deer Creek Studio is a small boutique firm, I keep my overhead low (no fancy office) and pass the savings on to my customer’s in fees that are reasonable and service that is warm, personal, and dedicated to my clients & their project’s success. My unique training as both a licensed architect and interior designer brings added value to the professional services I offer.

My specialty is creating homes with maximum curb appeal, I believe and have seen proven time and again that the overall increase in a property’s ROI can greatly benefit from exceptional design.

I specialize in  Modern Farmhouse, Timberframe Barn Homes,Vintage Cottage and French Country Modern style homes. This is an aesthetic that fits in with my style preferences & resonates in the communities of the Napa Valley. My current Napa Valley projects include a Timberframe Barn & Family Entertainment complex in Carneros, whole house remodels in St. Helena & Calistoga and ongoing fire re-builds of custom homes in Napa and Silverado. Please see my Work pages for more details.

I am pleased to offer a complementary initial one hour consultation for serious inquiries.
